A theatre for Washington’s Black community. The Broadway Theatre opened on December 19, 1921. Described as ‘a handsome two-story brick & terra-cotta building, it was demolished in the 1980’s.

A photo can be found in the “Shaw Historic District” pamphlet published by the DC Historic Preservation Office in 2008. Caption states that patronage was 4500 per week in 1927.
