The Public Hall was built in 1871. It was in cinema use from 1908 and was leased by Sydney Bacon, who built up a small local circuit of cinemas.
The public Hall closed as a cinema in 1926, and was converted into a dance hall. It later became Mitchell’s Second Hand Store, and was gutted by fire in the 1960’s, and demolished.
