The Starlite Drive-In was Saskatoon’s first drive-in theatre. It opened on July 19, 1950 with Jennifer Jones in “Duel in the Sun”. Located on 9 acres of land, purchased by one Harold Howard.
After selling it in 1968, the Starlite Drive-In was replaced by the Chevy dealership. (A New Starlight Drive-In was opened in September 1968, which became the Southwinds Drive-In and has its own page on Cinema Treasures).
