Located in the outer southwest London district of East Sheen, on Sheen Lane at the corner of Larches Avenue and Upper Richmond Road W. The Picturedrome was opened on 26th December 1910. The building had a central entrance, which had the wording ‘Picturedrome 1910’ set into the stonework at first floor level. There was a six-sided tower feature with windows, on the right of the building. In 1923, it was taken over by Joseph Mears Theatres Ltd., who was operating a small, but growing chain of cinemas.
The Picturedrome was closed in late-1929 and was demolished to enable Joseph Mears to build his Sheen Kinema on the site. The Sheen Kinema was later the Odeon, East Sheen and it too has now been demolished.
