Henry Bertram opened the small (which may account for the name) Cozy Theater on June 19, 1920.
The first theater to occupy the building was the Majestic Theater that opened in 1907. In 1924 Bertram sold the Cozy Theater to Wade-Tex Theaters who refurbished it and enjoyed a good three year run before closing it for good in 1927.
