A 1975 aerial shows the drive-in intact. By 1981, it had clearly closed.

The Sky-Vue opened its gates on May 22, 1952 with Frank Sinatra in “Meet Danny Wilson” with no extras. It was originally managed by Levi Metclif but was then taken over by Broken Bow resident Lyndal Privett exactly two months later (who once operated the Chief Theatre there).

Boxoffice, July 4, 1977: “The Skyvu Drive-In, Purcell, is being dismantled and will be replaced by some other business venture.”

The address is: 441 Osage Dr, Purcell, OK…you are correct that Osage Drive did exist when the drive-in was open. But 1524 S.Green Ave lands at the corner of S.Green Ave and Sherri Classic Drive too far south. That is using Goggle and Bing maps. The tank company that is located at the DI property now is at: 441 Osage Dr, Purcell, OK

GPS: 34.996535, -97.365583

The marquee has been removed.

The above address is incorrect. Osage Drive did not exist when this drive in was open as that was where the entrance road stood.

A more accurate address for this theater is 1524 S Green Ave, Purcell OK 73080. This points directly to the entrance road itself.

Please update.

A closer address (at least with Google) is 441 Osage Dr, Purcell, OK. Today, the GM Tank company which produces septic tanks and storm shelters occupies the property. The only remnants of the drive-in is the general outline and the marquee which the company still uses. http://tinyurl.com/z3mwmdl
