The Joyce Drive-In opened during the first week of April 1954, although its official opening date remains unknown.

“Lou Siebert has taken over the Joyce Drive-In and reopened on the 14th. Siebert has had lots of experience in the motion picture business, having run theatres all over the south and has been a film salesman for many of the film companies. He has put in a widescreen, and has repainted the entire screen tower, fence and concession stand.” — Boxoffice, April 18, 1960

1984 IMPA lists C. Townsend as owner

C. Townsend was Charlie Townsend. Former partner of Danny Wolfenbarger partners in the final operation of the 14 flags drive in of Oklahoma city.

The drive-in was located on US-69 about 2 miles south of Pryor Creek, on the east side of the hwy.
