United Artists opened this theater in Westview Mall in 1992, and it was designed by RK Architects. The auditoriums were nicer and more modern than their other area locations; it was also the only area UA complex that didn’t have "The Movies at…" in its name. Seating capacities in the nine auditoriums ranged from 200 to 400.
This theater was in direct competition with the older, independent Westview Cinemas 10-screener just a few blocks to the west, and GCC’s Security Mall 8-plex about a mile away. (UA deliberately spelled the name of the mall "WestView" with a capital "V," possibly to distinguish this complex from the other Westview Cinemas.)
This WestView became a victim of UA’s bankruptcy and subsequent takeover by Regal. In 2008, the complex was reopened as Diamond Cinemas Westview, run by Diamond Cinemas, a regional group headed by comic-book magnate Steve Geppi. Unfortunately, Diamond was unable to make the theater work, and closed it again after only six months.
(Note: this theatre should not be confused with the Regal Westview Stadium 16 in Frederick, MD.)

The theater was recently gutted and the back end demolished. Steel beams remain in the interior of the building, possibly to support the stores built adjacent to the theater.
