The first of two Paramount Theatres in downtown Miami, this one was opened by the Leach Family and Famous Players-Lasky on December 14, 1916 with Marguerite Clark in “Miss George Washington”. It was closed in 1928.
In 1931, the Fairfax Theatre, which had been operating since 1922, was remodeled and renamed Paramount Theatre.
