The Caddo Drive-In opened its gates on June 22, 1951, and was first owned by Shirl Butler.

In the Oklahoma City notes from the March 7, 1966 issue of Boxoffice: “Frank Henry, Caddo Drive-In in Anadarko, who was here to meet with Athel Boyter on the buying and booking. The drive-in is expected to reopen in the next few weeks”

A 1981 aerial shows the screen is gone, which was apparently still there in 1974.

A more accurate address for this theater is 1205 W Petree Rd, Anadarko, OK 73005. This points directly to the entrance road now Check n Go. Walmart is where the theater stood. Obviously Walmart Rd. did not exist when this drive in was open.

Please update.

@redcornmiller I would love to hear more about the history of this theatre because Frank Henry was my grandfather’s Charles Henry’s nephew.

The Caddo Drive-In was owned and operated by my grandparents, Frank and Mary Henry, in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Frank Charles Henry was from the Caddo tribe, hence the name. Shirl Butler was the son-in-law Frank Henry but not an owner or manager of this business.

It was owned by Henry and Butler in 1956.

U.S. 281 & Wal Mart Rd, Anadarko, OK 73005

The above address will map accurately to the location of the drive-in, with another insidious Wal Mart store occupying a former drive-in property.

Here is a 1974 aerial photo of the drive-in, courtesy of Earth Explorer and USGS:
