Idol Theater

The Idol Theater was operating prior to 1926 when it had 300-seats.

William Burnside owned the Idol Theater in the early-1960’s. It was closed in 1966, but reopened in 1967 and was still open in 1976. Since demolished a bank now stands at this address.

‘Idol’ is an anagram of Lodi, which is presumably how the theater got its name.

Just visited Lodi. The theater and building are nowhere to be found. Some of the locals say it was torn down by 1985 at the latest. I was told that the First Merit bank now occupies the lot that the theater was on.

Closed in 1966, reopened in 1967, still open in 1976.
