Opened in 1929, the Rex Theater was housed in a small tan brick building with ornate bas relief artwork on the front and across the top of the building. By 1941 it was operated by Robb & Rowley-United Inc. In later years it became an African-American theatre, closing in 1950. As of May 2009 it remained standing and was being used as a thrift store.

Appears to open in 1929 and closed as a colored theatre in 1950 and converted into retail in 1951 as i posted an “for rent” ad in the photo section.
