I have the original newspaper scan ads for its grand opening on June 5,1987. The Sycamore Cinema V replaced the former King Theatre. Contact me at
NightHawk1 and CZWalczak: The Sycamore Cinema V was operating as discount house as way back as 1987,and I will do research to find the official year this theatre opened. I’m thinking either late-1986 or mid-1987.
The Sycamore Cinemas V was operating as a discount cinema in 1996.
It also looks like the theater became a church after closing.
It appears that the theater actually faced Bragg Rd (behind a BP station), but it could have had a Shannon Drive address, as one side of the building runs along that road.
Need a little bit more history, surely some locals can add something,this is pretty good size city.
