After the Skyline Theatre closed in September 2017, its projector was moved to 4 Mile and allowed them to open a third screen. Story here: https://www.canoncitydailyrecord.com/2017/09/19/skyline-theater-closes-its-doors/amp/

ABOUT RUN TIME MANAGEMENT
Dedicated to renovating and maintaining historic theaters throughout the country.
That’s because big changes are coming to the Canon Cinemas. According to co-owners Brandon Jones and Luke Parker-Bowles, they spoke to the Canon City Daily Record in February 2026 that the theater will undergo large-scale renovations to remove the current 600 seats and replace them with plush, luxury seats. He added that though the theater will lose 25-30% of its current seating capacity, Jones felt confident the updates would be well worth the sacrifice. The renovation plan includes upgrading the current interior décor and overhauling the projection and sound systems within the theater.
He added that the interior updates was the conversation about a rapidly upcoming small 50-car capacity drive-in theater and cinematic experience that will be affectionately called “Ranch Drive-In” and will mark the first time a drive-in theater will be operating in Canon City since the closure of the Sunset Drive-In after the 1990 season. I’m not joking, it literally does say that in the article. Here’s something weird about the upcoming drive-in. The Ranch will not just have a car capacity but also provide space for Adirondack seating, the screen will be twice as wide of a normal CinemaScope screen, and instead of a normal concession stand building, food trucks and vendors will also be on site for moviegoers.
A Google Street View from June 2026 shows that the theater is still open. Maybe it just closed temporarily a very short time ago.
