The Moeller Artist 2-3 organ in the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Oroville, CA is Opus M 3044 7790; yes, two opus numbers. The main pipes are marked 3044. We believe the organ was returned to Moeller and was remade into opus 7790, which was installed in the church in 1948. the case and console are stamped with both opus numbers. I don’t know if this answers Bob’s question, or just adds to the mystery! This organ was recently restored to operation after languishing for decades in the church’s organ loft.

It was probably 1934 or 1935 that the Colonial/Durant Theatre was renamed the Roxy. A list of theater projects designed by Flint architect George J. Bachmann, published in the 1950 Theatre Catalog, includes a “Roxie” Theatre in Flint, listed as a 1934 project. Despite the variant spelling, the entry probably does refer to this Roxy Theatre.
