Opened on February 4, 2000 with 1,100-seats. The 7-screen Platinum Theatres was operated by Platinum Theatres chain. It was closed for renovation on January 1, 2019 and was due to reopen in Spring of 1019 as the Cinelux. However the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic put things back and it finally reopened in October 2021 as the Cinelux-Gilroy-Café & Lounge.

After a much longer time closed than anticipated, they were about to reopen last March, until Covid hit. The theater’s been done for a while, they just can’t do anything until everything opens up again.
It’s reopened as the Cinelux Gilroy, recliners in 5 out of the 7 theaters. They’ve also added in a lounge area.
