The Ritz Theater was the second of three popular movie theaters to hit the busy streets of Van Alstyne. It was opened in late-1933 to a packed house by a Mr. Kepler. At the time it was next door to the American Legion building on Main Street. The Ritz Theater was initially a success, until it closed in the later part of 1936.
