“Omniplex and Lumma inaugurated Scotland’s first-ever 4D E-Motion experience on September 17 at the world’s tallest cinema on the iconic Renfrew Street venue in Glasgow. Lumma worked closely with Omiplex to deliver an enhanced cinematic experience with their 4D E-Motion and brand-new Magnify 8 technology integrated into 128 seats.
The opening screened Spider-Man: Brand New Day, with special effects like wind, water, vibrations, scent, colour lights, air shots and more perfectly synchronized to the on-screen action."

The building was acquired earlier this year by a subsidiary of Omniplex cinemas, who terminated Cineworld’s lease. Last day of operation as a Cineworld is set to be 28th September.
Built on the site of the former Green’s Playhouse, later known as the Apollo (which has its own entry here on Cinema Treasures).
