This theatre just got Laser at AMC, I’m actually surprised they installed it her, this theatre is very rarely crowded even on the weekend. Most of the Houston megaplexes also got installed Laser at AMC in the last month.

For this theatre to be profitable, they should install recliners at this complex.

Just uploaded pictures today of the theatre, it’s completely different since their no independent films since AMC operates it. The run First and Center instead of Novie. The nearest theatres that show art house films is the River Oaks Theatre and Regal Greenway Grand Spectrum thetre.

I’ve never been to this theatre under any of its former (or current) tenant(s). However, it’s my understanding that this theater is actually not so great in terms of quality.

I saw a handful of films here when it was the Angelika, and saw one or two after it became the Sundance. While it was acceptable but not exceptional as the Angelika, I have to give it to the newer tenants – the Sundance Cinema experience is GREAT! And I have never had better popcorn in ANY movie theater, EVER.

This article includes two pictures showing the changed exterior signage and a picture of the remodeled lobby prior to the theater’s reopening.

This theater has reopened as the Sundance Cinemas Houston; the website is: https://www.sundancecinemas.com/houston.html

The theater now has a bar, available reserved seating, an art gallery, and enhanced concessions.

A follow-up story; apparently the dispute between the Angelika and the owners of the building that housed it had been simmering for some time: View link This article and others report that the Angelika is looking for a new venue in Houston.
