Opened in 1921, the Strand Theatre closed in the mid-1980’s and was reopened briefly in the 1990’s by a theatre troupe before it closed again.

The theatre is now on its way back to life thanks to a $10 million restoration project that will reopen the old movie house as a concert venue. Supporters have already raised $2.6 million from federal and state grants.

Plans call for the incorporation of two smaller adjoining buildings, to maximize the theatre’s capabilties. In 2017 it reopened as a performing arts theatre.

Is there an update on how the restoration of this theatre is proceeding? Does anyone have an idea on when it is to reopen to the public, and who are the indivduals involved in its renaissance?

My great grandfather owned this theatre at the time when it was showing adult films and called The Campus Theatre. His name was Basil A. Stoddard Sr. Let me know if you are still looking for info on it.
