Originally built in 1904 and opened in 1905 as a hardware store at a cost of $20,000. Operating as a theatre for over 80 years. In 1937, it was remodeled in an Art Deco style and opened as the 450-seat Avolie Theatre. It was renamed Roxy Theatre in 1952.
It is built in a manner that allows the theatre to run as both a movie theatre and a live performance theatre.

According to the picture above, the theatre changed to its present name as the Roxy in 1952.
