Previous Names: Parc and Dare Workmen's Hall
The Parc and Dare Workmen’s Hall opened in 1892 and was built for the miners of the Parc and Dare Colieries. In 1913 a large 1,200 seat cinema/theatre was built at the rear. By 1937 it was operating as a full time cinema, which continued into the 1950’s. It had closed as a cinema by 1963. By 1980 it had re-opened as a cinema again, with 960 seats and occasional stage shows.
In the 1990’s it became the Parc and Dare Theatre and was operated by the local Council. Today stage shows and films are presented and it is home to the Treorchy Male Voice Choir, the Parc & Dare Band and Rhondda Cynon Taff Community Arts.
