This little Loop movie house, located on West Randolph Street directly across from the Garrick Theatre, opened in 1915 as the Acme. Later the same year, it was renamed the World. The theater remained in operation until 1919.
The building that housed the theater and the entire block it stood on was demolished to make way for the Daley Center (completed in 1965, originally known as the Chicago Civic Center).
