Vientiane Theater

Originally opened as the Odeon Rama Theater in 1968. The cinema was air conditioned and was the major cinema in the downtown entertainment district.

In 1975, after the Communists took over, they re-named it Vientiane Theater and it was used for party rallies. The Vientiane Theater was closed in December 1993, by then it was in a run-down condition.

It was re-opened in August 1994 and renovations have been carried out. Films screened tend to be a mix of Western movies and films from Thailand.
