Street View of June 2023 shows a large vacant lot where this theater once stood. Status should be “Demolished”

The Paramount Theatre opened its doors on October 30, 1930 with Buddy Rogers in “Follow Through” along with four unnamed short subjects, featuring an original capacity of 600 seats and sound installations by Western Electric. The theater was constructed by J.B. Terry of Konawa.

The Paramount Theatre closed in 1948.

Looking quite dowdy without the colorful marquee, this is a modern day view of the former Paramount Theatre. It was located a few doors away from the State Theatre, and across the street from the Key Theatre.

This theatre had a qausi old west look. Wonder if it had any interior decoration?
Elaborate movie palaces are certainly a lot of fun to explore, but on hind site, if picture and sound quality were good, did it make much difference if sometimes the theatre itself was drab?

That arched marquee left no dought that this was a Paramount Publix house. Vintage photos of this theatre can be seen by typing in word “Paramount”;
