Once owned at operated by Fairlane-Litchfeld Corporation. The theatre had six screens and was located on College Road across the street from the campus of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. It opened June 3, 1983 and closed October 17, 2002.

The College Road Cinemas were demolished in October/November 2010.

College Road Cinemas opened on June 3, 1983 as a six-screen cinema owned and operated by Fairlane-Litchfeld Corporation. By the mid-to-late 1980’s United Artists Theatres took over the operations until its closing in the mid-1990’s.

It was demolished on October 26, 2010.

raysson, this theater closed late 2002. She made it into the 21 century, but not by much. I will try and find my newspaper article that describes the closing of this theater and the sale to UNCW

Saw Showgirls here with college friends that went to UNCW, back in the fall of 1995. We had a ball, everyone in the theater had fun hooping and hollering and shouting comments at the screen. Never would I have imagined that flck would be a cult classic now, I was seriously bothered by that rape scene. Hate to see they demolished this old movie house, haven’t been in that area in awhile.
