The Gala Theatre was situated in Taikoo Shing, a private housing estate on the Hong Kong Island.
The theatre opened to business on 23rd, July, 1982 with “Element of Risk” and a Chinese kung fu film. It showed first-run films until its closure on 28th April, 1994.
The theatre has been demolished and a commercial building with a multiplex was built on the site of the theatre.
