The 10-screen AMC opened on 26th May 1989 and was soon taken over by United Cinemas International, and re-branded UCI. On 28th October 2004, they were taken over by the Terra Firma Group, operators of Odeon Theatres Ltd. and it was re-branded Odeon.
Seating capacities in the screens ranged from 270, down to 186.
The Odeon was closed on 11th March 2012, and demolished in July 2012, to be replaced by three retail units.

The Odeon at West Thurrock is closing its doors for the very last time on 11th March 2012.
Wow, I just found out for myself as I was planning to go there with friend this week. I am deeply shocked, even though it has been on the plate for years. It was a great quite cinema for true cinema go'ers. Which I knew before it was closing down, so we could have gone for one last time.
Im sad to say that this cinema has now been demolished. The future of the site is to be replaced by three retail units. Good luck with filling those units.
I read elsewhere this one of few that had CDS cinema digital sound, format installed and at warner village in the same area.
