This was a very popular twin theater in Wrightstown in the 1980’s and 1990’s that showed first run features. It was opened on July 22, 1983 with Dennis Quaid in “Jaws 3D” & the Walt Disney Animated feature “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”. It was closed on January 30, 2000 with the animated feature “Stewart Little” & Tom Hanks in “The Green Mile”. It was turned into a church around 2001-2002.

Its close proximity to Fort Dix and Maguire Air Force base made it very popular on weekends. I went through my teenage years going to this movie theater. I saw “Mr. Mom” here in 1983 and the last movie I saw here was “Rush Hour 2”.

See my comment under the Towne Theatre. I can’t believe that a town of this size could support two distinct theaters.

The Hanover Twin Cinema opened its doors on July 22, 1983 with “Jaws 3D” in Screen 1 and Walt Disney’s “Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs” in Screen 2. A man, dressed as Ronald McDonald’s Grimace, also made a special lobby appearance on grand opening, with free McDonalds for the children.

Operated for almost 17 years, it was closed on January 30, 2000 with “Stuart Little” in Screen 1 and “The Green Mile” in Screen 2.
