This was a very unique independent theatre located in an aging building in the Old Town area of Fort Collins, Colorado. The building that was once a drive-through cleaners and was a low-key theatre and cafe that featured current independent films. The atmosphere matched the independent spirit of the films it shows with its minimalist furnishings and take-or-leave-it attitude. Filled with vintage seats from old movie theatres and comfy couches up front, this was a fun place to see a movie. There is a cafe in front and they served alcoholic beverages. The first movie I saw there was delayed because the still-in-training projectionist burned the film in the projector. That would usually be a bad thing, but it just made me feel more at home.
By 2007 it had closed and become a live music venue named The Armory. The building was demolished in 2024 to provide a new two-story mixed-use commercial building with will also be used as The Armory.

This history of Fort Collins from 1900-1919 mentions an earlier Lyric Theatre, which was apparently located at 137 E. Mountain Avenue.
Comfortable and welcoming. Now serving wine and beer! Gone digital. I always visit the Lyric a few times when I’m in town.
