In 2005 this address became the northwest corner of the Town of Cutler Bay.

This page could be listed under Cutler Bay if moving it will not cause existing comments to be deleted.

Would moving it make the theater unfindable on Cinema Treasures to people who remember the area as a part of unincorporated Miami (Dade County) back when the theater was open?

I remember this theater from when I was stationed at nearby Homestead Air Force Base back in 1990-1992. This was the best theater around and I distinctly remember seeing Terminator 2, Silence of the Lambs, Star Trek 6, and Dead Again to name just a few. The other theaters I remember in the area were one in downtown Homestead, a small theater in Cutler Ridge mall, and Town and Country in Kendall but this was the one I went to the most.

It was only an evening paper with an older demographic by then.

I noticed that many theatres stopped placing ads in later years in the News. Its circulation must had been slipping by the time the South Dade opened.

Rivest, I was one the assistant managers at this opening. AMC would have advertised the opening only in The Miami Herald and, like many distributors, did not take advantage of the combined rate that included The Miami News.
