Has anyone here been since the takeover/refit in the 4 screens that have opened As a Cineworld all screens apart from screen 1 were scope is this still same or have they gone one size fits all? im guessing screen 5 XL screen is scope + have they fitted any fancy sound formats?
SDW, I had a peak at the XL screen, which appeared flat and struck me as relatively small as seen from the seating arrangement. You’d probably have to sit at the front end to experience any noticeable size. I’d like to know the dimensions of the IMAX, which has been installed in one of the huge auditoriums. As ever, IMAX would never tell so we’d need someone from the cinema to spill the tea
SDW, I have been in the XL screen and it is a scope screen and the size looks to be the same as when it was Cineworld. From memory it was about 12m X 5.5m. Screen 1 has a flat screen which was installed by Cineworld. The only other screens I have been in so far is Screen 8 which is scope and screen 11 which is now the IMAX screen. Screen 11 used to be identical to Screen 5 but they do seem to have lifted the false ceiling and got a fair bit more hight and they are using the absolute maximum width and hight available. It also looks like the screen might have been moved forward as the fire exit that was at the front left is no longer there and I would guess is now hidden behind the screen. While all the screens have been completely revamped, I would guess that with the exception of the IMAX screen all the other screens are the same shape and size as before which were all scope screens with the exception of screen 1
