Photograph of the Doric cinema August 17th 1959. Although film poster boards were placed at the base of the entrance columns, details such as still boards or other information had to be obtained from the left side cinema entrance seen just behind the parked car. The main entrance doors recessed below the semi circular column rotunda were opened an hour before film programme commenced. The large restaurant above had closed when this photograph was taken, perhaps the Scotch Tea Rooms on corner left must have catered for the cinema going public.
