Originally built as a roller-skating rink, known as the RollerDrome. It was taken over by Victor E. Harrison in 1934 and converted into the Olympia Cinema. Only open during the summer seasons, it closed in 1939 after the outbreak of World War II and never re-opened.

In the 1960’s when in use as the Olympia Dance Hall, it was affectionally known as the ‘Rink’. Many artists appeared here, including, Lulu, Cila Black, Gene Vincent and the Barron Knights. It closed in 1974 and for a while was used as a packing store for herbs & spices, before becoming an auction house. It was demolished in 1985, the site becoming a car park for a local supermarket.
