Located in the small town of Richmond, to the north-west of Sydney. The Regent Theatre opened on 9th August 1935 with “My Heart Is Calling”. It had a seating capacity of 930. The Regent Theatre has always been independently operated. It was twinned in 1992 with seating for 261 & 287.

It is for sale
Closed on 27/11/1976. Bought by Australian tv star Mike Walsh(The Mike Walsh Show) who restored the theatre building and it reppened on 4/2/1977. Sold to John Levy and twinned on 10/6/1993. The owner John Levy is now 81 and retiring and selling the theatre. The asking price is 1.6 million dollars(Australian).
Converted to digital projection in(circa 2013).
Seating for 261 (Cinema 1) and 287 (Cinema 2) after becoming a twin.
