First known as New Empire Theatre, not just New Empire. It was now known as Empire Cinema Twin.
I’m afraid the information on the year the theatre was twinned is incorrect, as I would have been ten years old in ‘84 and I started working at this theatre when I was 16. I believe the theatre wasn’t twinned until around 1991 or 1992.
