Capitol Theatre

Opened on November 11, 1924 with Zasu Pitts in “Greed”, the Capitol Theatre was equipped with a Kimball 2 manual 11 ranks organ. It was once part of the Telenews circuit and renamed Telenews Theatre from September 19, 1941 screening newsreels. It returned to the Capitol Theatre name on January 24, 1950 screening Bing Crosby and Bob Hope in “Road to Rio” & Randolph Scott in “Abuquerque”. The former movie house and newsreel theater has faded into the past…

The Capitol Theatre originally had a 2/11 Kimball theatre organ installed in 1924.

This opened as Capitol on November 11th, 1924 and reopened as Telenews on September 19th, 1941. Sterling owned it during the Telenews years. Both grand opening ads posted here.
