The Lakeview Drive-In was one of two drive-ins in Dickinson. It was opened on April 27, 1973 with Cliff Robertson in “The Great Northfield Minnesota Raid” & Sean Bury in “Friends”. Located for many years out by Patterson Lake Recreation Area, it was a good place to get away from it all and see a movie on a starlit night. It was closed on September 1, 1986 with Kate Capshaw in “SpaceCamp”.

The lakeview was operated by Ted Kostelecky. It opened in 1974.
I think both names were used. In the book, Centennial Roundup: A History of Dickinson North Dakota, it was listed as the Lakeview, but I do believe the old sign used to say Lake Vue.
Approx. address for this drive-in was 4904 West Villard Street.
A closer address (at least for Google) is 3708 114th Ave SW, Dickinson, ND. A business currently sits on the property with no trace of the drive-in remaining. http://tinyurl.com/h2rdxx8
Closed or placed its last ad for “Space Camp” on August 31st, 1986.
This opened during the early-1960s and closed on August 31, 1986 with “SpaceCamp” (I cannot confirm if a second feature was shown for not because it was unlisted on ad). Dean’s Repair, a farm equipment repair and service shop opened on the site in February 1998.
The Lake View Drive-In launched on April 27, 1973 with “The Great Northfield Minnesota Raid” and “Friends.” It went by Lake-View and, finally, Lakeview as it closed on Labor Day, September 1, 1986 with “SpaceCamp.”
