In the early-1980’s All Saint’s Church was deconsecrated. In January 1987 it was taken over by the Lewes Film Club. Initially it was a 16mm operation. On 6th July 1992 it converted to 35mm projection with a screening of “Henry V”. In 2002 it became the Lewes Cinema, and it was taken over by the Council in 2012.

This art house cinema is under threat of closure , the local council want to take charge which means the cinema operators will have to find a new venue before the summer 2012.
