The Savoy Theatre is listed at 5326 S. Central again in the 1915 L.A. City Directory. The address as currently listed above on this page definitely has the two middle numbers reversed.
Advertised as 5326 S. Central in the LA Times on 1/22/50.
In the section titled “The Lincoln Theatre” on this page about historic entertainment venues in the Central Avenue district of Los Angeles, the Savoy Theatre is mentioned, but its address is given as 5326 Central Avenue. The source is cited as “The Central Avenue District Directory” (no date of publication given.)
Over the history of film exhibition. There were theatres that were called negro theatres. That served the Afro-American population in this country. At one time this theatre was listed as one of them.
