The Cherry Lane Twin Drive-In was opened April 7, 1966, at the south end of Cherry Lane, close to the Interstate. When it opened, it put the Sunset Theatre on White Settlement Road out of business. It was closed on September 2, 1985.

It was demolished, a Wal-Mart was built on the site which opened on July 15, 1986, which expanded to a Supercenter on May 17, 2006.

Marquee photo here. Address is listed as 1492 S. Cherry Lane. There’s supposed to be a Wal-Mart there now, so it shouldn’t be too hard to pin down the right address.

Google Maps indicates that the Cherry Lane site is well within the city limits of White Settlement, a suburb of Fort Worth.
