In April 1988, Chakeres sold 24 screens in five locations to National Amusements. Showcase Cross Pointe opened on November 11, 1988. It was the first Showcase to open in the Dayton area and had the most screens since Beaver Valley in 1977 and Centerville opened in 1982, both with six screens.
Showcase Cross Pointe was less than a mile from Chakeres Washington Square Cinema which closed in October 1989.
It closed on June 18, 2006. The building was ‘For Sale’ in 2010 and it had been demolished by summer of 2018.
