The Lyric Theater opened in January of 1914. The Lyric was located next to the DeKalb/Casino Theater on DeKalb Avenue between Broadway and Bushwick Avenue. The address range for the building is 1171-1179 DeKalb Avenue.
The Lyric Theater is listed in an ad dated April 11, 1914 as a "Photo-Play House". Admission was 10 cents. The Lyric Theater operated for at least five years, possibly seven years. The building later became a garage and is currently a workshop.

Two photographs of the Lyric Theater which I took in June 2006:

I remember that the Lyric was not a large movie theater.
It was at the Lyric that I saw “King of Kings”, probably in
the 1940s – I was about 8 years old.
I was impressed and did not even know that there was such a thing as a “silent film."
Admission for kids was 11 cents.
The linked photo appearing at the end of this comment, which will hopefully work, was taken by a Columbia University graduate student who is currently involved in a terrific project that will assess landmarking possibilities in the Bushwick Avenue corridor. It provides a directly shot view of the old theater.
By the way, the Brooklyn Theatre Index lists the years of operation for the Lyric to only run from 1914 to 1921. If this is trus, then AldoCP obviously saw the silent “King of Kings” at another theater in the 1940’s. Or perhaps the Index has it wrong.
