Designed by noted California based theatre architect S. Charles Lee, working with local architect Theodore Gildred. The Teatro Chapultepec opened on 4th August 1944. The movie theatre was part of a large office building, and had a huge vertical name sign on the facade.
The foyer had heroic sculptured figures hanging on the walls and glass chandeliers hung from the ceiling. Seating in the auditorium was in orchestra and balcony levels. There was elaborate plasterwork on both ceiling and side-walls, and huge festoon drapes formed the proscenium opening.
The Teatro Chapultepec was still operating as a single screen cinema in 1971, but was later closed and demolished. A modern skyscraper office block named Torre Mayor now stands on the site.

The Chapultepec Teatro opened on 24th August 1944. The street address was Paseo de la Reforma 503-505, Mexico City, Mexico.
The seating capacity given in 1945 was 2,000. By 1955 it was listed as having 2,390 seats and in 1971; 2,340. The Chapultepec Teatro has now been demolished.
