The Nu-Vue opened Jan. 21, 1949 with an open house and plaing Lassie in “Hills of Home.”

The Nu-Vue seems to have become the no-vue after a May 21, 1959 free screening hosted by the local merchants. The last advertised show was “Band of Angels” on May 20, 1959. The operators said that competition from television led them to close both the Nu-Vue and the Antelope Drive-In at the end of its 1959 season, as well.

kencmcintyre’s Abernathy link to the Nu View is dead: 12/5/2016.

The retired AKC (NAC)commander’s comments seem irrelevant. Who is Butch Rigby & what is the rest of the story?

Thankfully CT does a great job of separating hearsay from the facts.

Would love to see anything that indicates a name change is in order & then let’s do it.

A picture is worth more than a thousand words.

Usually the editors notice the changes and do the corrections at some later point. Don might want to comment as he added the theater.

How does that get corrected?

I wonder if it used to be NU VUE?

“When I was approached to buy it, he knew I would preserve it as a movie theater.” Butch Rigby
