A Mighty Wurlitizer Theater Pipe organ, Opus 10, a 2 Manual/7 Rank was shipped to the Themont Theater, Bronx, New york, it was reposessed, went to the Wurlitzer Store in New York, New York, then to the WurliTizer Store in Chicago, Illinois and finally to this theater, all in 1912. It is not know what happened to the organ after that. If you know what happened to the organ, please email us!
“Gee Dad, it "WAS” a WurliTzer!"
According to an article dated July 29,1979 in the Enquirer the Montclair was under the controll of Mid-States theaters and was due to begin construction of 4 theaters ,in spring 1980. These will be added to 8 other screens at that site for a total of 12 screens .Whether any of this took place will require further exploration.
Hank, I straighted out your article – it’s referring to the 275 East Cinema in Milford which I just added. It started with 4 screens, and 8 more were planned but never built. It was located on 5874 Montclair Blvd, which may be what’s getting it confused with this listing.
