The Wallace Theatre was opened September 1, 1935. In 1946 the Wallace theater stood beside a barber shop in a clean building with a shabby marquee sheltering an outside ticket booth with entrances and movie poster frames on either side and no sign.
By 1948 a tall vertical neon sign, a showy marquee and lots of neon had been added. Admission was fifty cents for adults and fifteen cents for children.

A brief article in the June 25, 1935 issue of the Lubbock Morning Avalanche said that excavation had been completed in Morton for a brick and concrete theater building, 28x130 feet, for Wallace Blankenship. The opening was targeted for September 1.
The Wallace Theatre in the photo uploaded by Don Lewis looks about the right size.
