In 1946 the Wallace Theater in Tahoka more closely resembled an old department store than a typical theater building. However there was no mistaking it for anything else. It had a large overhang that sheltered the entire front of the building. The outside ticket booth had entrances on either side and were recessed into the front of the building.
There were movie posters and placards on each end of the building, both sides and in front of the entrance, and above the ticket booth. Every Tuesday was bargain day with twenty five cent admission for adults and fifteen cents for children.
