Opened as a twin with on screen 1 with “It’s alive”, “Track down” and “Death Machine”, and screen 2 with “Sex on the groove tube”, “Deadly weapons” and “Foursome”.
Opened with a colour cartoon carnival, “The Oklahoman” and ‘dino".
This opened on May 23rd, 1958 and the 2nd screen opened on May 28th, 1977. Both grand opening ads in the photo section.
In 2012, the Glens Falls Post-Star wrote that John Gardner opened the Glen in 1958, son John Jr. “took over” in 1990, and grandson Brett Gardner “has taken over operations”.
According to the Glens Falls Post-Star, the Queensbury Zoning Board of Appeals approved plans for a second screen in March 1977. Estimated cost was $46,000 for the 80x40-foot screen. The Glen was owned by John Gardner and managed by John Gardner Jr.
It was nice to experience a classic old style drive-in movie while in America in a place that looks like it hasn’t changed much since the 50’s, I think it was like $7 for 2 movies which is amazing value. It was great getting watching a movie while lying down in the back of a truck, an experience and night I’ll never forget

Hi everyone,
The Glen Drive In Theater address is
963 Route 9, Glens Falls, NY
However Google maps has been listing it incorrectly. Google and I are working towards a resolve to this issue.
Please goto the Glen Drive In Theater website at www.glendriveintheater.com for correct directions.
Regards,
Ben – Webmaster
I discovered this drive-in while attending a family reunion this past weekend in Lake George, NY. Driving along Route 9, I passed the roadside marquee, which currently reads “SEE YOU IN ‘08” for the off-season. Unfortunately, I did not have my camera on me to snap a photo.
This website, however, features a few recent images of the Glen Twin. Also, if you click on the “map” link at the top of this page and select a “Satellite” view, you’ll get a decent overhead image of the two outdoor theatres with which you can zoom in and out. I don’t know if this was originally built as a twin, but one of the screens has a notably larger lot than the other.
The name of the theatre obviously refers to the area of Glens Falls, NY, but the address seems to map as Queensbury, NY.
