Located in the Talborjt district, slightly away from the main downtown area, the Cinema Sahara was built in the 1960’s after the earthquake of 29th February 1960 destroyed most of the town. Prior to the earthquake there were four cinemas operating in Agadir, only the Cinema Salam survived(it has its own page on Cinema Treasures).
The cinema Sahara screens regular Hollywood films in the daytime and Indian films at a midnight screening. It was closed for renovations on 21st March 2021 and reopened in 2022.
